Homeward Bound my Love

We spoke to the doctors today and they informed us that Savvy's brain injuries were too great. Even though they've had done everything possible Savannah will not be able to recover any further.  We will keep her on life support till the end of the day, but its time to say good bye, for now, to an angel that walked among us.
Our hearts are full as your love has reached across the miles and touched our family.  We know that our girls will find a special place in God's arms and that his purpose and plan will continue.  We want to thank you, and invite you to celebrate the lives of these two beautiful girls this coming Saturday.  The details on services will be posted at a later time. ~Jayna

Thank You

The amount of love that has been sent our way has been overwhelming, it has kept our spirits up and brought us a peace that you may not even understand.  Because of this we want to make sure we let all of you know the appreciation we feel.
Theres been so much support shown at the school, thank you for organizing the Best Dress.  A family member made it to the school that day and was greeted with masses of kids in skirts and shirts and ties. It meant so much.  The bank accounts that have been open in order to help with the financial hurdels of the accident have been an answer to our prayers, and the willingness people have had to donate has filled our hearts. I have recently heard rumor of a motorcycle group who have decided to do a run in order to raise money and we would like to thank them for taking something that brings them happiness and allowing us to bennifit from that. Donations of rooms and services and other goods have provided us with options that lift so much of the stress.  Memorials held for the girls, on the train tracks, and with the hideout group and others, have reminded us to gather together and bear the hardship as one united front as well as to rejoice in the memories we have been blessed to make, and we are more than glad others are able to remember to do the same.  The help and the love does not end here.  It just keeps coming.  We could not begin to express how grateful we are, there are not words.
It has been said that friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings forget to fly, and you all have been nothing but the best of friends to us.

Medical Update for Savvy

10/18/11

Good morning,
Today we continue to watch Savvy for Brain Swelling.  There is an ICP number (Inter Cranial Pressure) that we will be reporting on.  A healthy person has an ICP of approx 5-8, and the danger zone starts around 25.  Right now her ICP is at a 12 which is the best its been in the past 24 hours.  Her sits around 17-18.

Right now her injuries include: a broken tibula and fibia (both the bones in between her knee and her ankle) on the right leg that has been under surgery, a right pelvic fracture that will need to be pinned, a left pelvic fracture that is minor, a fracture of her L5 vertebrae, a broken scapula (shoulder blade), a fracture at the base of her skull, and the bones above her eye brows are also fractured.  On a good note! her hands and arms seem to be fine!

Internally: her lungs are bruised, her kidney is bruised and has a laceration which is bleeding and filling her stomach with blood.  All other organs seem to be working well.

Our greatest concerns are obviously with her head.  She suffered significant head trauma in the accident and a loss of oxygen after coding twice in the ER.  She has multiple small hemorrhages throughout her brain.

Our second concern is with a blood clot that has formed in her right leg.  They are currently unable to treat it with blood thinners due to the bleeding in her brain and abdomen, so we just have to pray that the clot resolves its self before it reaches her lungs.

Even with this list of obstacles she has given us reason to hope! We are told that she is able to breath on her own even though she's intibated.  She also coughed when she was rolled over yesterday and all of her vitals continue to be stable.

The doctors and their team of fellows and nurses have been so wonderful! We have appreciated their tender loving care.  Please continue to pray for them and Savannah as they fight together to make her well again.  And, as always remember to smile with us.

"Dont Judge Me"

Savannah had coined that phrase in our home, and if she were able to I'm sure thats what she would have to say right now

Playing on train tracks sounds like a silly thing to do, but not to these girls.
It was a beautiful, fall day in the canyon, the leaves were starting to change colors, the sun was getting ready to set and the three muskuteers had their camera in hand.  Only a few minutes prior to the accident Savannah had posted a message on her Facebook sharing the fun she was having.  Unfortunately that was her last post.

Some time after 6 p.m the girls were cought standing in the gravel area between two trians going in oposite directions.  To the eye it would apear that there was plenty of room to stand safely while the trians passed, but what the girls may not have known was that the force of the wind created by the trians would be enough to blow them over

In their innocence they found joy and they found pian

There are a lot of what if's; What if they hadn't gone to the trian tracks that day? What if they had never moved to utah? What if they had just layed down? what if......? But we can spend every day of our lives hiding in our homes, hoping to aviod tragiedy, heart ache, but when it come down to it what we'll loose is the opportunity to experience this beautiful life that God has blessed us with- to see the canyon in the fall, to hear the birds over head, and the sound of a running stream. They saw it all that day.  My girls did not hide from life they lived every day with exciment and purpose.

Let their life be an example to us. Let their smiles remind us to welcome life openly. When your heart hurts remember- they saw it all that day.

Hey everyone,

We realize how many people out there are affected by what has happened to Kelsea and Savannah Webster, and are anxious to know what is going on concerning many aspects of the accident and the events that followed. We also realize that in times of hardship healing comes from coming together and exchanging love and support. This blog's purpose will be to provide updates and information to those who would like it, and to provide a place for people share thoughts, feelings, and memories. We would like to thank everyone for the love, support, and prayers that have been directed towards our family- it has been incredibly appreciated. If there is anything not said on this blog that you feel should be or you would like to know do not hesitate to email me. Remember to smile!
